I'll be listening tomorrow and I'm sure I'll probably have something to say, like always! :)

Haven't listened to it yet but here's my thoughts on the last section:
Breaking Bad = Best show on TV at the moment (can't wait for it to start back up)
Mad Men = I finally gave up on the series around the middle of Season 4 (it's good but I got bored)
Parks and Recreation = Ron Swanson hilarity!
30 Rock = Glad it will be the final season next season so I can quit watching
True Blood = Hopefully this coming season will be as good as last season!
Modern Family = Best sitcom on TV in a long time
The Office = Without Carrell? Hmmmm... We'll see...If they put Darrell in charge of the office I might continue watching
Community = Gave up after season 1 as, for some reason, I don't see it being as funny as the other NBC lineup shows

Now, have you guys seen 'Game of Thrones' yet? That's been an excellent series so far!

Having just recently finished season five, I found it so refreshing after the end of Tennant's run, which I felt got very melodramatic and overwrought towards the end. And don't even get me started on Rose. Never liked her. Tennant was amazing all the way through, but the writing wasn't always up to par with his acting. Davies was clearly running out of ideas towards the end. Matt Smith (and the very talented Steven Moffat) breathed some much needed levity into the doctor that went away as the Tennant era wore on and they were playing up the whole the Doctor is playing God angle. (They really hit us over the head with that one by the way.) Matt's Doctor isn't just some goofball though. He has depth and substance. He play the Doctor very manic; in a way that can be very funny one minute and very serious in the next. And Amy Pond you guys. Amy Pond. I tie her with Donna as my favorite companion. She's strong, opinionated, determined, dedicated.

So I very much disagree that season five was a miss. In my mind, it was very much a hit. Did I like every episode? No. If I cold go one season of Who without the Daleks, it would be a great year. But the BBC would never allow that. As a character Rory grated a little (no more than Mickey did mind you. Martha deserved so much better. Like the guy she was already engaged to!), but he turned out to be quite the hero at the end. The characters were well crafted, the overall storyline about the cracks in the universe was really good. Just loved it.

So, what are we thinking about the season premiere? My wife and I are both enjoying Matt Smith as the Doctor. Rory, as of this point, is a throwaway character but I think he has more in store this season. Amy didn't have much to do this episode but I'm completely interested in the River Song storyline, especially since we get a little bit of a reveal of her background finally!

I'm thinking that the end of the first episode may result in bad juju for Amy...

@Bryan, yes, I would agree. A little bit of camp but a bit of seriousness when the situation arose.

By now you've heard my rant through voice mail. The funny thing is, last night I quizzed my wife about Doctor Who and asked the same questions you asked.

Favorite Doctor = David Tennant (after awhile, we didn't like him at first)
Favorite Companion = Martha
**Addendum - we are both big fans of Amy Pond**
Least Favorite Companion = Donna (like myself, she couldn't STAND Donna)
Favorite Episode - The one where the Doctor has to say goodbye to Rose
Favorite Enemy = Daleks

So, that's not from me, that's from my wife. At least we can both agree on the fact that Donna was horrible and we were so glad to get rid of her!

My favorites? I already gave you the rundown in the voicemail but here they are:
Favorite Doctor - David Tennant (much like my wife, it took awhile to warm up to him but he was the best by the end of his run)
**Addendum - If I include ALL of the Doctors I would go back to Tom Baker but that may just be my remembering how good he was from my teenage days**
Least Favorite Doctor - Christopher Eccelston
**Addendum - Again, if I include all Doctors I was never a big fan of Jon Pertwee's Doctor, too serious***
Favorite Companion - Rose
**Addendum - Old school goes to the Brigadier General from the Tom Baker years although Sara Jane definitely gets a shout out. I actually liked Ramona from the olden days of PBS! :) ***
Favorite Episode - The one where the Doctor realizes that he is the master of time and can do whatever the hell he wants! :) It was a wonderful wrap up for the character and was very emotional.

So, I already gave you the rundown but here is it for the world to rip apart! :)
