I just listened to this episode on the way in to work. Great work guys! You touched on pretty much everything I either agreed with or disagreed with. I have seen Dark Knight Rises twice now. The only thing I would like to mention that I haven't really seen any outlet touch on is after Alfred left and Bruce was broken and left for dead in the Turkish prison by Bane, the prisoner who was taking care of Bruce (actor: Tom Conti) seemed to me to have taken up the Alfred mantle. Taking care of him and trying to be his voice of reason. Did you guys feel that way?

Also, like Jay (I think?) I felt that giving John Blake the name 'Robin' at the end was a total cop out. It wasn't a nod to us geek kids. Like you guys said in the podcast take out that scene but, keep the scenes after where he finds the Batcave. Oh tangent was it just me or was it super cool that when Blake got swarmed with the bats he wasn't afraid but, stood up and excepted/was at peace with it? I thought that was amazing. But, anyway just have him find the Batcave no need to try and hint to something that will never happen (meaning a continuation of the Nolan verse). Speaking strictly canon comics this 'John Blake' cannot (well let me say should not) become anything but, Batman it would be a deserves to comic book readers and to the Nolan verse to introduce a character and flesh him out more into someone who doesn't exist in the comics. Nolan did really well with making the cast names fit (mostly) with people in the comic. Why now with this Blake character change all that? I don't really understand.
I could go on and on because I love talking about the little things and the meaning of things but, I will leave it at my two questions above. Thank you again for the wonderful podcast.

Not sure on 'Homeland' yet. I watched the first 3 episodes today and it looks like it might have potential but it didn't grasp me from the get go.

On the other hand, I watched the first episode of 'The Newsroom' and really enjoyed that. It was well written and acted and had some really great character development right off the bat.

And, I can finally say I am caught up 100% on Remember When. (Which, coincidentally, did not show up on a Facebook search earlier, it came up with a band instead)...Hmmm...

Ah, and I missed one more...

Fringe - I think this is probably the best Sci-Fi on TV at the moment. My wife and I are catching up on Season 4 but, generally speaking, the show is engaging and entertaining. Is it perfect? No. But overall it is a solid show. And they aren't canceling it, they only intended on doing 5 seasons so at the end of the 5th season they are ending it as they planned.

Now that I am FINALLY catching up on the latest several episodes of 'Remember When', I feel it's a good thing to post in response to your podcasts...

Prometheus - Although I enjoyed the movie I am in the same state of mind as Jay, I don't really know if I liked the movie or not. There were plenty of holes in the plot/script but I think Ridley Scott is going to have more opportunity to clean them up once the director's cut is released. The biggest complaint I have (spoiler) is that I thought Shaw was going to take the ship with the weaponized goo back to the homeworld of the Engineers in revenge. I was excited thinking she was going to go loose the goo on them and let them suffer, but, nooooo!

Alien - Great horror movie!
Aliens - Great action movie!

Avengers - I was avoiding this one earlier this summer but, to get out of work early, I went and saw it on a whim. I am thankful I did, Joss did a great job with the film and is still a master of having multiple characters equally balance out each other. And it might be blasphemy, but I enjoyed the first Hulk incarnation the best for BACKSTORY, and the second Hulk for bad guy. Ruffalo did a good job though, I just hope they stick with him. And for some reason I thought Thanos was involved with the Skrull for some reason but I am not 100% on that.

Breaking Bad - Best show on TV by a longshot! I am so excited for the upcoming 8 episodes (they are breaking it down into 8 and 8 to finish it off). The one thing I read somewhere in an interview with Cranston (spoiler) was that he sees that the only way they can wrap up the series is to kill Walter White off. So, I can see this happening before the series is over. And, like Parris said, he has changed into the bad guy over the series. After it's all said and done I intend on going back and watching the series over again to see the transformation.

Alcatraz - Idiot FOX canceling it! This was a good one and I was enjoying it. I didn't see the cancellation coming at all!

Homeland - It's in my queue to watch. I didn't see the high praise coming from general web sites but with Parris rating it so highly I expect I'll enjoy it.

Game of Thrones - Get with the program Jay, this show has everything. It leans more towards the political nature of things in many cases but, why I recommend it, is that they have strong character growth. Once you start liking a character it's a question of how long are they going to last? Major characters, minor characters, it doesn't matter, they will kill them off! :)

The Walking Dead - Spectacular. And, like Parris said, they have recently starting veering back towards the feel/tone of the comic book which I am 100% caught up on (to issue #99). I also HIGHLY recommend reading the comic as it is just as intense, if not more, than the show.

The Newsroom - I watched the first 5 minutes of the first episode and am now waiting for my wife to watch it with me. It looks excellent based on those 5 minutes alone.

The Legend of Korra - I know I've brought it up before, but if you two haven't seen 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' (animated) or 'The Legend of Korra' you are missing out! I learned about the show through the guys from the 'Totally Rad Show' podcast a long time ago and it is spectacular! It is my wife's favorite show (Avatar) and very high on my list of must watch! You guys should check out Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix streaming, it is a perfect series!

Men in Black 3 - Good movie overall. Not as wonderful as most people make it out to be but the ending makes the whole movie worth watching. I just wish there was a bit more comedy to it. I still like the first one best and the second one is pretty much a throwaway film.

Dominion - Jay, if you like these types of board games you should try out 'Smallworld'. It's a blast once you get to understand the mechanics of the game.

The Office - I watched the whole season (regretfully). Yes, I am checked out.

30 Rock - Really Parris? You thought this latest season was the best since Season 1? UGH! I checked out of this one a few episodes from the end of the season. (I tried to stick it out but I just couldn't do it).

Parks and Rec - I think this last season was just as good as Season 3. I just wish they would do something with Rob Lowe's character as they almost swept him under the rug this season.

Thundercats - If Parris wants a decent animated show for him and his kids, the Thundercats reboot was pretty well done. It's not great, but it is good enough to mention.

Star Wars 1313 - Not sure if you guys saw the trailer for this game, but it looks awesome! You were mentioning how the writing for Star Wars is mediocre but this game looks great. And, it is the first game in the Star Wars universe that is rated 'M' for Mature! (I wonder if Slave Leia is in it....Hmmmm?),,,

Anyhow, that's about all for now. Hope you are all doing well and it's good to be hearing shows once again. I still have to catch up on The Starvation Games episode but after that I am 100% caught up. Oh, and I am super glad you are on Stitcher now as that means I can leave my iPod at home again.

Keep it up guys!

I'll be listening tomorrow and I'm sure I'll probably have something to say, like always! :)

Haven't listened to it yet but here's my thoughts on the last section:
Breaking Bad = Best show on TV at the moment (can't wait for it to start back up)
Mad Men = I finally gave up on the series around the middle of Season 4 (it's good but I got bored)
Parks and Recreation = Ron Swanson hilarity!
30 Rock = Glad it will be the final season next season so I can quit watching
True Blood = Hopefully this coming season will be as good as last season!
Modern Family = Best sitcom on TV in a long time
The Office = Without Carrell? Hmmmm... We'll see...If they put Darrell in charge of the office I might continue watching
Community = Gave up after season 1 as, for some reason, I don't see it being as funny as the other NBC lineup shows

Now, have you guys seen 'Game of Thrones' yet? That's been an excellent series so far!

Mad Men = I finally gave up on the series around the middle of Season 4 (it’s good but I got bored)
Hmmmm… We’ll see…If they put Darrell in charge of the office I might continue watching
Community = Gave up after season 1 as, for some reason, I don’t see it being as funny as the other NBC lineup shows

Now, have you guys seen ‘Game of Thrones’ yet? That’s been an excellent series so far!

Having just recently finished season five, I found it so refreshing after the end of Tennant's run, which I felt got very melodramatic and overwrought towards the end. And don't even get me started on Rose. Never liked her. Tennant was amazing all the way through, but the writing wasn't always up to par with his acting. Davies was clearly running out of ideas towards the end. Matt Smith (and the very talented Steven Moffat) breathed some much needed levity into the doctor that went away as the Tennant era wore on and they were playing up the whole the Doctor is playing God angle. (They really hit us over the head with that one by the way.) Matt's Doctor isn't just some goofball though. He has depth and substance. He play the Doctor very manic; in a way that can be very funny one minute and very serious in the next. And Amy Pond you guys. Amy Pond. I tie her with Donna as my favorite companion. She's strong, opinionated, determined, dedicated.

So I very much disagree that season five was a miss. In my mind, it was very much a hit. Did I like every episode? No. If I cold go one season of Who without the Daleks, it would be a great year. But the BBC would never allow that. As a character Rory grated a little (no more than Mickey did mind you. Martha deserved so much better. Like the guy she was already engaged to!), but he turned out to be quite the hero at the end. The characters were well crafted, the overall storyline about the cracks in the universe was really good. Just loved it.
